The slow stroll

Seventeen reasons not to hurry.

The map is selective, not exhaustive. It favors places that help a first-time visitor understand downtown—and leaves room for whatever catches your eye between stops.

Before you wander

Small-town practicalities.

01

Park once

Street parking is dispersed around the core. Arrive, find a legal spot, and let the village be walkable.

02

Mind the hill

First and Second are easygoing. Wharf Street drops noticeably to the harbor and climbs on the return.

03

Check the door

Island hours can be seasonal and many small businesses close one or two days a week. Verify before a special trip.
